Collaborative teachers

IRIS Connect customers have reported:

Greater confidence among the teachers

Enhanced beliefs in their power to make a difference to their pupils’ learning

A greater commitment to changing practice and willingness to try new things

“Through IRIS Connect, the teaching and learning strategy takes on a life of its own, it becomes something that we’re all talking about and doing, it becomes a part of our culture, not just professional learning.”

Build shared libraries of lesson videos

Create subject- or role-specific groups on our platform, share recorded lessons across your staff and collaboratively reflect on, model and improve teaching and learning. Not only suitable for teachers at any career stage but also highly valuable for teaching assistants, support staff and any new members joining your team.

Unlock the power of peer feedback

Share clips of recorded lessons with peers at the click of a button to give and receive contextualised feedback through time-stamped video annotation. Peer feedback encourages staff to reflect critically on their own and others’ work, helping them to become more self-aware and improving their ability to critique constructively, fostering a sense of accountability and responsibility for their learning journey whilst creating a supportive learning environment.

Facilitate collective professional learning

Move the improvement of teaching and learning from individual to collective responsibility. Our collaborative pathways support your whole team through a process of identifying PD priorities and relevant resources. All team members conduct appropriate theory reading and then meet to discuss practice within a Film Club environment followed by an individualised process of planning and deliberate practice. Finally outcomes are shared and a practice library developed.

What our customers say

“One of the benefits of IRIS Connect specifically with subject leadership, is that we can share best practices. For example, in one of my roles as a computing leader, we can now bring together a bank of good computing videos. When we have new ECTs or ITTs join our schools, we can then share a video of how we want computing taught across the trust. So this collaboration of ideas and best practices is really great, especially for newer teachers coming into the role.”

“If I’m struggling to find the best approach with a class, I can use IRIS Connect to find a reflection of another TA with the class to identify the strategy that they used most effectively with those children. We also acknowledge successes, for example with a timestamped comment where one of the team has said ‘I really like what you did there’ – this kind of professional support is great to give and receive, and really helps to bond the team around a common goal of being the best that we can for our students.”

Gina, Sir Thomas Wharton Academy

“CPD before IRIS Connect was all in-house. Being a small school, we heavily relied on the resources available that day. With IRIS Connect, we’re now able to also record training sessions, so if staff have been away when implementing new things like our reading curriculum, we can record and share it and also watch sessions from other schools across the trust.
