Our duty to safeguarding all who need it
Video is a powerful tool for accelerating teaching and learning, but it is vital that the students featured in a lesson recording are appropriately protected at all times.
A school leader who purchases a system that does not meet basic data protection requirements, exposes the school to a range of significant liabilities, not least the failure of an Ofsted inspection on the grounds of safeguarding.
Working in the education sector, we have developed our services in partnership with our customers over the last 15 years, adding in features that ensure safeguarding is never needing to be compromised in the process of professional development.
The IRIS Connect Record App
Our Record App automatically uploads, and then deletes your reflections from the recording device – ensuring they’re safely stored in your account.
Data encryption
Your data is encrypted to protect it during transfer, as well as protecting it while at rest/in storage.
Cloud storage
Your digital data is stored remotely in a world-class, secure online space – making it both safer and easier to share.
Anonymisation filter
Our anonymisation filter ensures compliance with certain safeguarding practices and provides protection for vulnerable students.
Personal control
All users have their own account, which allows them to manage what they record, keep, share, or delete. Editing reflections online also enables certain necessary sections of recordings to be shared when required.
Organisation access
Unsharing your reflection with your colleagues allows you an additional level of control over your reflections. Sharing reflections is limited to those within your organisation, unless authorised by your organisations’ admin.
GDPR
We are committed to ensuring the security and protection of the personal information that we process, and to provide a compliant and consistent approach to data protection.
We have a robust and effective data protection program in place which complies with existing law and abides by the data protection principles.
We continually review our obligations as a data processor to ensure we meet the demands of the GDPR and the UK’s Data Protection Bill.
